Why Have A Storage Room On My Exhibition Stand?

A trade show booth with chairs and a tv.
Getting the most out of your exhibition stand space is key to a good show. Having plenty of floor space for visitors to actually come on to your stand helps you to engage with them better, rather than trying to talk on a busy exhibition aisle. So why would you take up precious space on your exhibition stand to have a storage room? Granted, some stand spaces may be too small to warrant a full storage room, so lockable storage under a reception desk could work instead. However, if your stand has the capacity for a storage room, then there are plenty of good reasons to consider having one for your next exhibition stand.  Here are just some good examples:
  • A safe and secure place for any important belongings
  • Keeps your exhibition stand looking neat and tidy
  • Room for extra collateral, such as brochures or promotional giveaways
  • Keep your phones or laptops fully charged while not being on show
  • Somewhere to hang your coats and bags
  • A great way to hide any electrical fuse box or cables

Do I Need A Reception Counter On My Exhibition Stand?

A reception desk at a trade show.

As all exhibition stands can be made bespoke to suit company preferences, there is no right or wrong answer when choosing the components that will feature on your exhibition stand.

A familiar feature for many exhibition stands is to have a reception desk or counter near the front of the stand. Having a bespoke reception counter that will be unique to your exhibition stand has plenty of positives.

Here are a few examples of how it can enhance your stand space:

1) Welcoming visitors:

A reception counter is an ideal starting point on a stand for visitors. Having the counter near the front of the stand gives you the chance to welcome each visitor, hopefully, to entice them to talk with you about your company and services

2) Easy use for handing out promotional giveaways or literature:

If you have plenty of branded promotional giveaways or literature that you wish to hand out, then having a reception counter helps display these items easily. It also makes it easier for passers-by to take your company information if they do not have time to talk.

3) Extra storage space:

If you have plenty of promotional items, literature, drinks, or even just your coats and bags to store, then a counter is perfect for extra storage. They prove even more useful on stands that are perhaps too small to include a storage room on.

4) Additional brand awareness:

As all reception counters can be made bespoke, it is a great chance to provide additional brand awareness for your company by applying graphics to the front faces of the counter. Making a feature out of the counter, such as having a light box graphic or an interactive iPad display, is a great way to attract attention to your company image.

Which Furniture Option Should I Choose For My Exhibition Stand?

A group of tables and chairs in a room.

Having the correct furniture on your exhibition stand is essential, and can vary depending on the style of show you are exhibiting at or for how long you need to engage with the visitors.

To help you choose the correct option, here is a quick guide to the most popular furniture options available for exhibition stands:

Poseur table and bar stools

Ideal for: informal meetings

High-level poseur tables are great for visitors who want to have an informal chat, where they can perhaps lean against or put their drinks down. Additional bar stools make it easier to conduct quick meetings without being too intimidating.

Low-level coffee table and chairs

Ideal for: Formal meetings

If you have important clients or visitors that will be attending your stand, then it may be best to have low-level seating with a coffee table for a more personal meeting.

Bench seating

Ideal for: Speakers or presentations

Bench seating is perfect if you have a presentation or speaker on your exhibition stand. Our own bespoke benches can also have lift-off seats for additional storage space if required.

Sofas/armchairs

Ideal for: High-end trade shows and formal meetings

For a more high-end look and feel, then sofas and armchairs work great for impressing important visitors that may wish to have a longer discussion about your services.

Branded furniture: Bean bags, deck chairs, cubed seating

Ideal for: additional brand exposure

Branded furniture will help create further brand awareness on your exhibition stand. You can be quite creative with your artwork, and furniture such as bean bags or deck chairs are great for adding a relaxed and welcoming feel to your stand.

Essential Branded Items To Guarantee Exposure At Your Next Trade Show

Lanyards with different colors and logos.

When exhibiting at a trade show, it is important to maximise your brand exposure so visitors remember your company and services.

Having a truly unique exhibition stand is an ideal way of standing out amongst other competitive exhibitors, and backing this up with branded items is key in helping emphasise your business.

Here is our list of essential branded items to guarantee maximum exposure at your next trade show:

1) Branded bags:

Branded promotional bags make it easy for you to pass over any literature information to visitors. It will also help spread your brand and message throughout the whole show when the visitors walk around all the other booths. Opting for a branded bag that can be used again, such as a branded cotton shopper, will more likely be kept after the show as well.

2) Promotional lanyards:

Promotional lanyards help visitors identify your staff members that are manning your exhibition stand, making it easier for them to approach if they have any questions about your services. Your staff will also be a walking advert, with your brand being visually exposed when they walk around the show themselves.

3) Branded clothing:

Much like promotional lanyards, branded clothing will help visitors recognise your staff on your exhibition stand. It also promotes unison as a company. You can be creative with a clever message on the reverse of the clothing as well.

4) Bottled water:

Trade shows can be very tiring to walk around. Offering visitors a branded bottle of water will guarantee a great response. By giving a refreshing and well-needed drink enhances your business as a company who cares about their customer’s well-being.

5) Branded furniture:

Branded furniture can range from subtly printed cushions to fully branded beanbags, depending on how you wish your company to be portrayed. It helps reiterate your company’s brand, making sure that you are well remembered by each visitor.

6) Promotional giveaways:

Handing out a promotional giveaway to all the visitors is a sure way that they will remember you after the show. Choosing which promotional giveaway to hand out all depends on your company’s brand and message, the trade show you are exhibiting at and who the visitors will be. For example, if it is a technology-based show then you may wish to give a promotional giveaway that can prove useful to tech-based minds, such as branded stylus pens, USBs, power bank chargers, or screen cloths for touchscreen devices.

With so many options available to choose from, it can be quite daunting in choosing the correct branded item for your next show.

Instead of trawling through endless promotional catalogues, call us on 01992 642 642 or email info@mxlltd.evmk.dev and let us do the searching for you.

We will suggest the branded items that are best suited for your requirements.

Which Graphic Option Should I Choose For My Exhibition Stand?

A booth at a trade show with a colorful display.

When it comes to the design of your exhibition stand, brand awareness is a top priority.  The graphics on your exhibition stand will bring your brand to life.  But with so many different graphics options available, it can be hard choosing the right one suited for your artwork.

To help you better understand our suggestions, here is a quick overview of the most popular graphic options that we use on our client’s exhibition stands:

1) Vinyl cut lettering/logos:

Cut vinyl graphics are normally produced in a single colour.  These signs are cut from a sheet of self-adhesive plastic.  Computer cut vinyl graphics are a low-cost effective method of promoting your business.  They are ideal for exhibition stands and are usually used for logos and body text.

2) Printed foamex:

Digital printing onto foamex produces an excellent quality finish. It comes in a variety of thicknesses, from 3mm – 15mm.  Foamex is a lightweight and very durable substrate, which is ideal for exhibition interchangeable graphics.  They can be applied using spacers/velcro and are easy to wipe clean for your next event.

3) Digitex banner:

Fabric banners are ideal for large indoor spaces because they are light, durable and flexible.  Once digitally printed, they can be used in almost any situation to act as a high impact graphic and also for exhibition stand dressing.

4) Printed re-Board:

If you are looking at creating a freestanding display, then printed re-board material is a perfect solution. It can be flat packed, lightweight and easily assembled, but robust enough to be stacked with heavy products if required. It is 100% recyclable, and great for one-off events.

5) Printed lino Flooring:

Printed lino-flooring is a cushioned vinyl that is perfect for use as a temporary digitally printed flooring.  It is used for light to medium floor traffic, ideal for an exhibition stand.  It is easy to install and is anti-slip for safety purposes.

6) 3D cut out MDF lettering:

Thanks to our latest CNC technology, we can now offer cost-effective 3D lettering. This is a great feature to have on your exhibition stand, especially for bold single colour logos.  This can be applied to counter units or direct to the back walling as a unique 3D display.

With so many different graphics options to choose from, we can suggest the best choice of graphic to suit your brand and the overall look and feel of your stand.
